TiTaMED Quality Spinal Implants

TiTaMED was founded in 1996 with the aim of designing and manufacturing a superior quality South African spinal system which is comprehensive, affordable and user friendly to both surgeons and theatre sisters, and beneficial to patients.

The TiTaMED system which is comprehensive and dynamic, consists of 4 different types of screws, various configurations of hooks and rods, laminar wires, and a range of other devices and tools to accommodate most spinal procedures such as degenerative disc disease, trauma, spondylolisthesis, tumors, etc, and having a special emphasis on scoliosis, where our patented screw design allows for new techniques to be used in scoliosis surgery.

We are continually enhancing our product range through R+D with emphasis on new "non fusion technology" products. TiTaMED is researching and developing new products and manufacturing techniques to enhance our range and manufacturing skills.

When designing and manufacturing our tools, we focus on quality, reliability, simplicity, balance and ergonomics. This is achieved by interacting with surgeons and responding to their feedback.

Our implants are manufactured from the highest quality medical grade titanium in our factory in Cape Town, South Africa, according to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards, and additionally bears the CE mark. TiTaMED is in the process of applying for FDA approval for our spinal system.

TiTaMED has state of the art manufacturing facilities, with significant experience in working with exotic materials such as titanium, aluminium and stainless steel. Experience gained in medical manufacturing puts TiTaMED in a position to manufacture for other companies in "Original Equipment Manufacturing" (OEM) in any medical field (not restricted to spines).
